This year you’ll have to trade in your tuxedo and gown for some high stepping cowboy boots and fancy duds cause the Gala for Smiles has a new theme, the Boots ‘n Bling Ball. Save the date in your calendars now, August 24 at the Druid Hills Golf Club. The evening will begin with the opening reception to the tunes of Cowboy Envy. Then you can have you and your pardner’s picture taken at the photo booth, tour the offerings at the silent auction tables and take your chances at the Wall ‘o Wine.

We will have fabulous items for the live auction and 30-40 packaged silent auction items, in hopes of a stampede during the bidding! We already have some fantastic items, such as:

• A week in Naples, Florida
• A gourmet dinner in Jean and Ronnie Weathers’ beautiful wine cellar
• A week in Jackson Hole
• A golf weekend at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Oconee

We have additional items such as hotel stays, restaurants, special tours which we plan to combine into “fabulous” packages.

The event committee, chaired by Dr. John Muse and incoming President, Dr. Carol Wolff have planned an event that is promised to be great fun for everyone. We kick off the festivities by celebrating dentistry with the announcement and honoring of the Northern District’s Dentist of the Year, Doug Torbush. After that our auctioneer Dean will start the fundraising portion of our evening with games and our live auction. The money we raise will go to the Greater Atlanta Dental Foundation and the dental clinics that we support. To top off the evening, DJ Big Wave Dave will spin the best of country and western and rock ‘n roll so you and your pardner can dance the night away.
